Crystalline solar modules

In crystalline solar modules, the single solar cells are organized in a defined area and are connected by means of conductors.

Between 6 and 100 solar cells are centralized in a solar module. Standard solar modules possess 4 x 9, i.e. 36 solar cells.

For monocrystalline solar modules the efficiency is about 14-18%.

For polycrystalline solar modules the efficiency is about 12-16%.

Monocrystalline and polycrystalline solar cells form the main part of the currently applied solar modules with > 85% . At present, the market share of thin-film modules is approximately about 12 - 15% (1).
