Wind zone

 

Wind loads vary depending on the area. Climatic conditions may have an impact on the design and statics of buildings, as well as photovoltaic plants.

 

The velocity pressure or wind loads respectively are divided into wind load zones according to ASCE 7-98. For the wind load zones subject to ASCE 7-98 (new standard ASCE 7-02), averaged wind speeds in a height of 33 ft above even ground (see roughness classes) are assumed and are divided into wind load zones. To maintain the wind load, the velocity pressure is multiplied by the aerodynamic power coefficient. If the solar module does not bear on a roof area, the pull has to be considered as well.
