Centrifuges - Decanters
Centrifuges and decanters are used in agricultural spheres to dewater manure and separation of digester solids. Dewatering centrifuges reach a high level of separation - up to 95% of the total solid matter i.e. manure - leaving a clear liquid phase behind.
70 to 90% of phospates and 30 to 35% of nitrogene compounds are taken out of the liquid phase by centrifuges. The separated solids have a dry matter content of about 25 - 35%.
To reach higher rates of separation efficiency and dry matter content, usually focculants have to be added.
The electrical power consuption is approx. 5 - 7 kwh/m³ or 0.015 - 0.027kwh/gal (U.S.) of incoming substrate.
